2009 Lachat Instrument Update Program

The unprecedented economic situation has had a major impact on analytical laboratories worldwide. Many labs have seen cutbacks in their capital equipment budget, delaying the upgrade of their outdated analytical instrumentation. In order to help labs through these difficult times, Lachat Instruments is introducing a new 2009 Lachat Instrument Update Program.

This program allows customers to upgrade their entire legacy automated analysis system (Lachat or competitive brand) or just their system components (autosamplers, pumps, new methods) at special discount rates. This may be especially valuable for labs with discontinued equipment (see note at end). Contact your Lachat Sales Representative today to see if you qualify for these incentives:

1. Upgrade your FIA system

• 8% discount on FIA core or channel upgrades

• Upgrade to QuikChem 8500 Series 2 core and channels, also Omnion 3.0 software
(if applicable)

2. Trade-up to the most advanced FIA solution

• 12% discount on complete system trade-ups

• FIA core, channel and components trade-up to QuikChem 8500 Series 2 platform

• Components include pumps, autosamplers, and dilutors (optional)

• All Trade-ups must be quoted before Dec. 31, 2009

3. Take advantage of new Autosampler pricing

• Lachat Instruments has made some adjustments to its 2009 ASX- series autosampler
pricing to better align with current market prices. Component upgrades for autosamplers
are based on this new pricing!

• Lachat ASX-410 — $7,750
• Lachat ASX-520 — $8,750

4. New Customer Economic Stimulus Incentives

• 10% discount for new customers pursuing Federal Economic Stimulus funding

Example:

If a lab wanted to trade-up their Legacy QC8000 System to the current QC8500 Series 2 platform, the Lachat Instrument Update Program would provide over $4,000 in savings for the lab. If the lab wanted to only upgrade their QC8000 core and channel base system to the QC8500 Series 2, the savings would be over $2,000 with an overall price under $20,000!

The 2009 Lachat Instrument Update Program’s intent is to keep labs equipped with up-to-date equipment that will best meet Lachat’s promise for productivity, profit, and data quality through uncertain economic conditions. Note about Legacy Instrumentation Service and Support:
Hach Company and Lachat Instruments will make every reasonable effort to provide parts and service for a minimum of 5 years after a product has reached the end of its production life. Lachat Instruments realizes that many of its loyal customers still use legacy (discontinued) QuikChem Flow Injection Analyzers, some that are decades old. Lachat will continue to make every reasonable effort to service these instruments, but not all legacy service parts remain available for discontinued systems and their peripheral components.

Please note that production life for the QuikChem 8000 analyzer platform reached its end in April 2004. Because of the lifespan of the QC8000 instrument platform, many components critical to instrument function will be available significantly longer than the 5-year minimum stated above. Contact your local Lachat Sales Representative for questions concerning the support duration and availability of specific parts and components.
